Hailey is a relative newcomer to Sam Barlow High School. Originally from Colorado, she’s only lived in Oregon for a short period of time.

So when Hailey and her Dad called me about creating her high school senior portraits, they weren’t quite sure where to begin.

They didn’t know the area well. And Hailey had no idea where she wanted to take her senior pictures.

But I was quickly able to put them at ease. I provide a pre-session consultation for all of my high school senior portrait clients. And during that short phone call, I was able to help Hailey identify a wide range of location options for her senior portraits.

But more than that, I learned about Hailey’s interests. And I helped her make her own decision that reflected Hailey’s unique personality.

Hailey really wanted outdoor portraits in a manicured garden. We talked about a lot of options in the Portland area, and Hailey took some time to visit a few potential locations.

After exploring her options, Hailey decided she wanted to take her senior pictures at the Edgefield Hotel in Troutdale, Oregon, which is very close to her new home in Gresham.

Hailey also wanted to have professional hair and makeup done in advance of her high school senior portrait session. But again, she wasn’t sure of her options.

I helped Hailey find an experienced professional hair and makeup artist in her area. Sahari Welton of Pure Elegance Artistry in Sandy, Oregon did an amazing job. And she made Hailey’s senior portrait experience even more memorable.

After her hair and makeup session, Hailey and I had a great time exploring the many senior portrait background options at Edgefield. From vineyards to an eclectic organic garden, Edgefield always provides a lot of variety for my senior portrait clients.

Besides Edgefield, I suggested that Hailey consider a second location for her senior pictures. Hailey really enjoys the environment in the Pacific Northwest. As a result, I suggested we visit the Sandy River Delta Park which is just down the road from Edgefield Hotel.

We explored some of the trails that meander through wooded areas at the Sandy Delta park. And also spent some time creating senior portraits in the nearby grassy fields.

Hailey and I had a great time creating her senior pictures. And after, I helped her parents design a beautiful wall art display of Hailey’s senior portraits for their home.
