Sunset High School senior Maria is going places. Only a high school senior, she has already traveled the world with her family and speaks four different languages: Italian, Portugese, Spanish, and English. “I think all these life adventures have molded me into the person I am today and I’m super thankful,” she says.
But it’s those same adventures that are keeping her close to home. “So many people want to go travel the world, but i’m honestly just so happy to be home again after so long.” Instead, Maria has her sights on the University of Oregon and eventually law school where she hopes to learn to be an advocate for young children.
The University of Oregon will be lucky to grab her, and I was honored that Maria chose me as her photographer to take her high school senior portraits. Maria chose to hold her senior portrait session at a park near her home on the West side of Portland. The lake and fountain spark a lot of childhood memories for Maria and her family, so we made sure to capture her senior pictures with those elements in the background.
After shooting on the lake shore we walked down a short trail into the woods nearby and created some beautiful senior portraits of Maria on small wooden bridge, On the way back we couldn’t help but capture some additional images as the sun set, casting light on the beautiful fall leaves and highlighting the autumn colors that surrounded the lake.
The pictures speak for themselves, as Maria’s confidence and beauty (in and out) showed through in each and every frame.
Here’s a short video of Maria’s session – (set it to High Definition using the buttons on the bottom right of the video for the best image quality). And be sure to click on the images below to see larger versions!
